Nz evergreen native also known as the North Island Kowhai is earlier flowering than its south island counterpart without the tangled juvenile growth. It has golden yliw flowers through spring.it forms a graceful slender small tree. Grows in most conditions and is hardy. Attractive to birds and bees.
